Espace Tajan. The final bid regarding this painting which Dupuis presented for his entry at the French Royal Academy of painting, doubled the pre-sale estimate. Dupuis, born in Montfort-l'Amaury, near Paris, settled in the French capital in 1630 and worked closely with some still life specialists from the Flanders and the Netherlands. He became one of the most representative of still life artists in France during the 17th Century and this price was his best ever.
