by the painter Payâg , gouache on paper circa 1640-1650, 24,2 x 15,8 cm, a page of the «Leningrad Album » representing a reunion of six yogis, on the verso a calligraphic work by Mir Emâd al Hasani (1531-1615), Persia Safavid art circa 1610

Paris-Drouot. This single page of the famous Leningrad Album assembled in Persia during the 18th Century and acquired by Czar Nicholas II who offered it to the Asian Museum of Saint-Petersburg bore a pre-sale estimate of 80,000 FF. Such Islamic manuscripts are still much in demand.
