with about 100 photographic prints in good condition, published by Louis Blanquart-Evrard (1802-1872) in Lille, June 1852
Marseilles. This interesting album fetched quite a good price resulting from the quality of the prints which were in almost mint condition. Blanquart-Evrard opened the first French photographic printing house in 1851 and produced the works of many famous photographers such as Le Secq, Du Camp or Marville. His enterprise was short-lived but paved the way to the expansion of photography during the second half of the 19th Century in France.
