This bronze had been offered by the Syndicate of Tobacco Manufacturers to its president in 1926 and had remained in his family until 1968. A fine work by Bugatti who died at 31 and surely a maximum price paid by the buyer. Meanwhile, a cat by Bugatti, Hebrard foundry, fetched 420 000 FF (Not inclusive of buyer premium) (US $ 65,100) at Dijon, Eastern France, on December 12th 1999. |
