Sotheby's New York. This painting had been untraced until now and was considered as an important rediscovery of one of Bloemaert's early works. Strangely enough it only carried a modest estimate of US $ 12,000. «Portrait of Miss Athenaïs d'Albenas, landscape background», oil on canvas, 1807, 65 x 54 cm : 800 000 FF (US $ 128.600 ) (Exclusive of buyer premium), Espace Tajan, Paris. A good price for a portrait by Boilly whose genre scenes are however more interesting to buy.
