Sotheby's, New York. A strong bid for this rather small work, which carried an estimate of $ 80,000-120,000. Münter and Kandinsky stayed in the Bavarian market town of Murnau in August 1908 and were joined by the artists Marianne Werefkin and Alexei Jawlensky. Together they formulated a new style incorporating the bold colors of French Fauvism.
