end of the 17th Century, French, with the coat of arms of the Greder family
Chantilly, North of Paris, Etude de Muizon. This tapestry was probably made around 1690 for François-Laurent Greder, a Swiss officer of the French army who was awarded the order of Saint Louis in 1694. The decor is reminiscent of the style of the famous designer Jean Bérain found in other pieces exhibited in the National Museum of Stockholm and in the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
