Libert-Castor Group, Drouot-Paris, . A surprising bid for this carpet which carried a pre-sale estimate of US $ 30,000 though Indo-Persian carpets are much sought by collector nowadays. Its large format, its quality, its pink background and its decorative aspect with lowers would explain such bid. In addition, the «Shah Abbas» decor was probably a plus.It was under the reign of Shah Abbas (1587-1629) that the best Persian carpets were produced.
