The sale of the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint-Laurent collection of Art Deco pieces achieved remarkable results with a total turnover of over 59 millions euros on February 24th 2009 in Paris despite the fact that many of the pieces offered to buyers were not really outstanding.
Some glass works by Maurice Marinot quadrupled their estimates, meaning that they would be hard to sell at equivalent prices in regular sales whereas a" Dragon" armchair by Eileen Gray sold for a record price of 19,5 million euros (buyer's premium not included)
