Cotes des artistes

A new and most complete survey concerning some 30,000 painters of all times, their average prices being based on auction results throughout the world starting from June 1996 and constantly updated so as to keep collectors informed about their performances on the market.
This list contains thousands of artists' names from A to Z with their nationalities, trends (Up, Even, Uneven, Erratic, Scarce or Down) and minimum-maximum or average price rates. New names are progressively added according to recent auction sales results.

Prices are given in US dollars (for currency conversion valid in January 2007 : Euro= 1,30 USD=0,66 British pound) for average 65 x 50 cm formats.
UP means an increase in prices according to recent results.
EVEN means stable.
UNEVEN is for painters whose works are not equally priced because of certain factors, notably an artist's best period (the Blue period for Picasso being his best, Van Gogh's works produced after 1886, Derain and Vlaminck before 1910, Mondrian's works after 1911 being the most expensive), not to mention paintings considered today as more commercial than others.
DOWN is for painters whose works have suffered a fall in prices.
OUT means a strong suspicion about the reality of certain prices at auction.

Average prices are for 65 x 54 cm or 65 x 50 cm formats and are related to recent auction sales throughout the world.
