Christie's vision of strong cross-buying came to fruition today with a record sale for the category, with robust bidding online and in person, and collectors from India, Taiwan, Mainland China, Europe and the Americas vying for rare and desirable categories. The sale result has created new elites among Southeast Asia art categories, placing Masriadi, who broke his record at auction, Yunizar, Rudi Mantofani among the most sought-after artists. Modern Art was equally encouraging, continuing the prime positions of artists such as Bonnet, who also broke his world record at an auction, Le Mayeur and Zobel."
