The two sales of the artists's works thus fetched over 110 million pounds, an excellent score in view of the major financial crisis affecting the U.S and Europe.
Most lots offered for sale fetched their estimates though Sotheby's recorded a few disappointing bids but overall, the sales were successful for the sake of the art market and the artist himself.
