Coimbra House Culture in Portugal will inaugurate the largest
International art surrealist exhibition on November 17f 2018 with 112 of
the world leading artists from 48 countries due to participate in this event.
This ground breaking project is presented by
Santiago Ribeiro, a Portuguese surrealist painter dedicated to promoting
Surrealism of the 21st century through exhibitions shown over the past 8
years in various parts of the world, notably Berlin, Moscow, Dallas, Los
Angeles, Warsaw, Nantes, Paris, Florence, Madrid, Granada, Barcelona, Lisbon, Belgrade, Monte Negro, Romania, Japan, Taiwan and
Brazil.
Santiago conceived the International Surrealism Now movement in 2010 in Coimbra with a
major exhibit organized by the Bissaya BarretoFoundation. The work of
this artist has notably been displayed in New York during a few minutes each
day on the giant screens placed over the entrances of the Nasdaq OMX group and
of the Reuters Thomson news agency in Times Square. Based on metaphoric
surrealist visions and images, his works are being described as complex
compositions illustrating the deep concerns of the modern society and its
individual and collective attitudes.
