The Gimpel fils gallery in London is staging until January 14, 2011 an exhibition of the works of French artist Guy de Lusigny.
Guy de Lussigny was born in 1929 in Cambrai, in northern France. He started painting in 1950, working with the idiom of Mondrian, Malevitch and Auguste Herbin, deconstructing colour and shape in a formalist manner. His points of reference were the painted line and the use of a square format. Lussigny's work is concise, sober and meticulously executed.
