INDECENT PIRACY OF THE NAME ARTCULT ON THE PART OF CHINESE FIRMS
04 June 2014
Catégorie : NEWS

Protecting the name artcult which I created 18 years ago when I launched the www.artcult.com website alas seems to be a battle lost in advance following the shameful initiatives of many firms, especially Chinese, aimed at annexing it.

On receiving several requests from China about using the name artcult on the Internet, I always responded bluntly to say that such enterprise was a kind of piracy but Chinese firms have nevertheless been undeterred in registering artcult as a keyword in that country.

I clearly condemn such initiatives that are conflicting with my activity especially as I have been the first to use the name artcult. However, the trouble is that one must spend a fortune in registering a name in every country with attachments such as org, com, net, etc...

I am therefore denouncing the practice of stealing names, like the Shanghai-based Huahong ltd companydid latelyin annexing artcult to promote its products.
