Sotheby's sale of prints held in New York on October
30 and 31st 2014 in New York achieved a total of 8,7 million USD.
Edward Hopper's "A
Corner" sold for 40,625 USD (inclusive of buyer's premium), "Night in the Park" by the
same artist fetched 68,750 USD, Max Beckmann's "Der Nachauseweg" culminated at 118,750 USD, Marc
Chagall's "Temple and the History of
Bacchus" went for 68,750 USD as well as his "Large Bouquet" (M384) while Charles Sorlier's print "Carmen" (M CS39) after
Chagall achieved a similar price.
Henri Matisse's "Jazz" (DBKS 22) realized 533,000 USD, Joan Miro's "Défilé de mannequins" 4 plates (M 630-632 and 635) sold for 52,500 USD, two sets of Pablo
Picasso's "Les
Deux Femmes nues" (B390
M16) sold respectively for 185,000 and 125,000 USD while Toulouse-Lautrec's "Moulin Rouge, La
Goulue" (B 339 ADR 1-II W P1A) went for
389,000 USD and his "Idylle Princière" (D206
ADR 204 W 209 ) fetched 227,000 USD. Meanwhile
Gerhard Richter's "Ice 2" (Butin
123) went for 75,000 USD and Andy Warhol's "Marilyn" (F. & S. II.24) and
"Superman" (F & S II 260) sold respectively for 209,000 USD and
149,000 USD.
