OVER 40 MILLION USD FOR CHRISTIE'S INAUGURAL NEW YORK EXCEPTIONAL SALE

Christie's  New York Exceptional Sale organised on December 11, 2014 realized $40,897,000 in achieving notably strong results.

 

Christie's 2014 Exceptional Sales, one in New York and one in London, achieved a combined total of $93,989,935.

 

The sale achieved six world auction records, including a Bronze Bacchic Figure Supporting The Globe by Adriaen De Vries, 1626 , which fetched $27,885,000 , a world Auction Record for the Artist  and a  World Auction Record for Any Early European Sculpture

 

An Important And Rare Imperial Double-Dragon Carpet, Wanli Period (1573-1619)  sold for a world record price of $665,000  while a Marble Group Of Venus And Cupid Kissing by Joseph-Charles Marin (1759-1834), Executed In Rome, Circa 1808-10  was knocked down at a world record price of $485,000  for the Artist .

 

A magnificent German Silver And Silver-Gilt Torah Ark made by Johann Christoph Müller, Breslau, 1746-1758 from the Rothschild collection sold for $1,565,000 , a world Auction Record for a Judaic Object while patinated-bronze Figure Of The Genius Of Liberty By Augustin-Alexandre Dumont, Cast By Soyer Et Ingé, Paris, Dated 1835 fetched a record $425,000  for the Artist .

 

Finally, a bronze model Of Juno by Michel Anguier, After A Model Of 1652 dating from the late 17th Century sold for $221,000 , a world Auction Record for the Artist.
