Loiseau Gustave (1865-1935) Nationality: French Activity: painter Average price rate for 65 x 50 cm formats: Between US $ 20,000 and 60,000 Loiseau worked in Pont Aven with gauguin in 1890 after studying painting at the school of Decorative Arts in Paris. He also befriended Maxime maufra and Emile Bernard and was known as a post-Impressionist artist producing works with cross-hatched touches. He started to exhibit his paintings at the Paris Salon des Indépendants in 1893 and the Salon of La Nationale from 1895. Loiseau was also among the post-Impressionist painters who exhibited their works between 1890 and 1896 in the French capital. This artist travelled extensively in France and brought back various landscapes from his trips though he remained above all the interpreter of scenes around the River Seine, the cliffs of Dieppe and the surroundings of the Dordogne valley.
