Some 350 works, statues and objects, produced between 1285 and 1328, at a time of great political and artistic upheavals, are being exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris until June 29th 1998. These works were made during the reigns of Philippe le Bel and his sons and this 50 year period has not been fully understood so far. However, the exhibition tends to show that many artistic transformations took place at that time especially regarding the art of carving statues when figures became more idealised.
