Christie's have unveiled on December 5th 1999 their new plush headquarters situated 9 avenue Matignon in Paris built on the site of the former Artcurial Gallery. The renovated 4500 square metres building contains two well decorated salesrooms, five exhibition rooms, a reserve compound of some 900 square metres, 600 square metres of offices and a library housed in a superb atrium.
The «James Christie's» salesroom with a 400 people attendance capacity is being considered as a pure jewel. So far Christie's plan to organise exhibitions in their headquarters pending an adoption by the French National Assembly of the reform of the auctioning profession which will allow foreign auction houses to hold sales in France.
The new headquarters will be opened to the public in March 2000.
