A miniature on ivory painted in 1738 by J.E Liotard, a famous Swiss artist, fetched 122 000 FF (US $ 17,400) (Not inclusive of buyer's premium) on December 20th 2000 at Drouot. The miniature representing a portrait of Prince Henry Stuart (1725-1807), who later became Cardinal of York, only carried a pre-sale estimate of 1500 FF ($ 215) as the expert in charge of that sale was not really sure about its authorship.
