PHILIP GUSTON AT THE POMPIDOU CENTRE
01 October 2000

Works by Canadian artist Philip Guston are being exhibited at the Pompidou Centre in Paris until December 4th 2000.

Philip Guston was awarded the Carnegie Institute Prize in 1945 and went on to pursue a rather strange career as an independent-minded artist who gave up figurative painting in favour of abstraction and then swerved back to figuration again in 1970.
