Christie's London. Ferrière first worked in Paris at 17 and went to England in 1793 where he had great success. In 1805 he was in St Petersburg and then in Moscow where he lost all his fortune in the fire of 1812. The artist was back in England in 1817 and returned to Geneva in 1822. He was one of the best exponents of the Geneva school of the end of the 18th Century and his works were very expressive.
