embosed and chiselled with decor including wolves, elephants, rabbits, hogs, dragons, unicorns, harpies and flowers with the «Tugra» mark of Osman on the neck and on the cover, the latter linked with a chain with the handle. Turkish art of the Balkan region, first quarter of the 18th Century
Etude Briest, Drouot-Paris. Such solid bid can be explained by the fact that Turkish pieces have been much sought on the market since the late 1980's. This ewer was acquired by a Turkish museum.
