DOGON WOOD STATUE REACHES HIGH PRICE
01 June 1998


An African Dogon statue fetched a price of 850,000 FF (US $ 142,000) at Drouot on June 7th 1998.
The Malian piece of art produced under Bambara influence in the plains of Seno carried a pre-sale estimate of 600,000 FF (US $ 100,000). It came from the Solvit and H. Goldet collections. African art has been selling well in Paris during the first six months of 1998.
