RECORD PRICE FOR LIBRARY

The Library of William Foyle, a London dealer of modern books, fetched a record £ 12,6 million at Christie's on July 13th 2000 in London.

Christie's said that 97% of the 897 lots were sold. The books had been collected by William Foyle whose stock numbered 2 million books. They had been kept by his daughter during the 1960s.
