DÜRER'S RARE PRINTS FETCH HIGH PRICES AT CHRISTIE'S
Christie's met success in New York on January 29, 2013 with its sale of rare prints by Renaissance German artist Albrech Dürer, the best bid being reached by "The Rhinoceros", a 1515 woodcut (23,5 x 29,8 cm) which culminated at 866,500 USD (buyer's premium included) against a high estimate of 150, 000 USD.

SOTHEBY'S FARES WELL IN NEW YORK AND IN PARIS
The Property from the Estate of Brooke Astor sold by Sotheby's in New York on September 24 and 25, 2012 achieved an outstanding total of $18,828,109. Buyers competed for paintings, drawings, Chinese works of art, furniture and decorative art from Mrs. Astor's New York City and Westchester residences, as well as jewelry from her personal collection.

Christie's evening auction of Old Master and British Paintings held in London on July 3, 2012 totalled £85,057,100 / $133,454,590/ €105,725,975, the highest ever total for the category. The sale was 84% sold by lot and 96% by  value.

Sotheby's June 26-27 2012 sales of contemporary art totaled 83 million GBP with the  Evening auction achieving £69,307,050 with 21 works selling for over £1 million.

Christie's Post-War    &    Contemporary  Art Evening    Auction held on June 27, 2012 in London totalled £132,819,400     ($207,331,083 / €165,891,431),  selling  98%   by   value   and  87%   by   lot.  This   is   the highest   total   for  any   auction   of   Post-War   & Contemporary   Art in  Europe.
