Westall Richard
(1765-1836) Nationality: British Activity: Painter and engraver Average price : Between $ 1,500 and 4,500

Richard Westall was first an apprentice working in the studio of an engraver of coats of arms before he dedicated himself to produce drawings.

He had the opportunity of exhibiting his works at the Royal Academy in 1784 before studying in this institute the following year.

Westall painted many historical works and was a well know illustrator. He became an associate member of the Royal Academy in 1792 and an academician two years later. During the last part of his career he gave drawing lessons to Queen Victoria.
