NEW RECORD PRICE FOR CLAUDE MONET
Christie's Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale which took place on  June 24 2008 realised £144,440,500 / $283,970,023 / €182,428,352 - the highest ever total for an art auction held in Europe.  The top lot of the auction was Le bassin aux nymphéas, a masterpiece painting by Claude Monet which realised £40,921,250 / $80,451,178 / €51,683,539, a world record price for the artist at auction.

NEW RECORD BID FOR JEFF KOONS
Christie's Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which took place on 30 June 2008  realised £86,241,600 / $171,879,508 / €108,578,174 - the highest total for the category at Christie's in Europe.  The top lot of the auction was Three Studies for a Self Portrait by Francis Bacon (1909-1992), a rare self-portrait triptych that the artist painted while in Paris in 1975, which sold for £17,289,250 / $34,457,475 / €21,767,166 while Jeff Koon's Balloon Flower, Magenta realised £ 12,9 million, $ 25.8 million, a record price for the artist at auction.

CHRISTIE'S TRIUMPHANT MAY SALES
New York – Christie's, the world's leading art business, concluded its two-week Spring Sales of Impressionist & Modern and Post-War & ContemporaryArt in New York with a grand total of $756,302,200, maintaining the company's market share lead and demonstrating the continued strength and confidence of the art market. This total was produced by six sales, and the average price per lot was a lofty $1.27 million.

RECORD PRICE FOR CLAUDE MONET IN NEW YORK
Christie's sale of Impressionist and Modern art on May 6, 2008 in New York totalled over 277 million USD with notably six remarkable record prices, one of 41,48 million USD fetched by a painting by Claude Monet, the second for a sculpture by Alberto Giacometti which went for $27,48 million USD and the third for a sculpture by Auguste Rodin bought for 18,96 million USD, a fourth being recorded for a painting by Joan Miro, which culminated at 17,06 million USD.
