Sotheby's first contemporary art sale of the year held on February 10, 2015 held in London yielded £123,515,250 ($188.2 million) with 87% of lots sold, its highest ever for contemporary art in Britain.

147 MILLION GBP FOR CHRISTIE'S SALE OF IMPRESSIONIST, MODERN AND SURREALIST ART
Christie's sale of Impressionist, Modern and Surrealist art held in London on February 4, 2015 art yielded an impressive £147 million, which exceeded estimates of £92.8–133.8 million, and in which 88 percent of the 80 lots offered were sold.

170 MILLION GBP FOR SOTHEBY'S SALE OF IMPRESSIONISTAND MODERN SALE IN LONDON

Sotheby's Impressionist and Modern art sale held in London on February 3, 2015 yielded 170,3 million GBP against a high estimate of 164 million for 46 lots sold out of 52.

The Surrealist section comprising 18 lots out of 23 totaled on its part 16,2 million GBP compared with a 18–26 million estimate.
