Ben-David, Zadok Birth - Death : 1949- Nationality : Yemeni then Israeli
Ben-Zion, Ben Zion Weinman Birth - Death : Ben-Zion studied in Vienna and settled in the U.S in 1920. Working as an amateur painter until 1933, he became an American citizen in 1936. This self-taught artist stopped writing in Hebrew with the rise of Nazism feeling that the language and his work was a scream that no one heard. He was a close friend of Mark Rothko with whom he founded the group “The Ten” in 1935 in New York. He exhaled his love for the Bible and biblical themes and also worked as a sculptor. The Jewish Museum in New York held two exhibitions of Ben-Zion's works in 1948 and 1952 as well as a retrospective in 1956. Nationality : Ukrainian then American 1897-?
