Zinshtein studied painting in the Urals School of Art and at the St. Petersburg Academy. After becoming known via his technique termed as “impulsive”, he exhibited his works in several countries, in the U.S, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Canada and Israel.
Zlatine, Sabine Yanka née Chwast Birth - Death : 1907-1996 Nationality : Polish then French
Painter. Zlatine exhibited her works in Paris, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Copenhagen and in the U.S. During the Second World War, she was in charge of a group of Jewish children who were later rounded up by the Gestapo in Izieux, near Lyons, and eventually murdered in the Nazi extermination camp of Auschwitz. Miron Zlatine, her husband, was also arrested and later executed by a Nazi firing squad in Reval, Estonia. In 1987, Sabine Zlatine was a key witness in the trial of Klaus Barbie who had been the Gestapo chief in Lyons.

Zorach, William Birth - Death : 1887-1966 Nationality : Lithuanian then American
Born in Lithuania, Zorach came to the U.S with his family in 1891. He first studied painting at the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1902 to 1905 and at the Academy of Design in New York between 1908 and 1910. Zorach then went to Paris, where he pursued his studies at the Academie de la Palette and met Marguerite Thompson whom he married. He exhibited his works at the Salon d'Automne until 1922 and returned to the U.S showing his paintings at the Armory Show, at the Society of Independent Artists and at the People's Art Guild in New York. After exhibiting his last paintings in Ohio, Zorach worked as a sculptor after 1917 and continued to produce watercolors. As a painter he was close to the Fauve movement before veering toward Cubism.
