Born into a wealthy Tunisian Jewish family, Junes studied painting in Paris under Jean-Paul Laurens and Gerome. He then worked in the French capital, where he exhibited his works at the Salon des Artistes Francais. Junes mostly painted luminous exterior scenes during his career.
Justiz, Alfred Birth - Death : 1879-1934 Nationality : Czech
Painter of landscapes, still lives, nudes and figures. Justiz studied at the Academy in Prague as well as in Karlsruhe and in Berlin. He visited Paris in 1910 and studied the works of Ingres, Puvis de Chavannes, Courbet and Cezanne. After spending the First World War as a soldier Justiz came back in 1923 in the French capital, where he met Andre Derain. He exhibited his works several times in Prague as well as in Munich in 1911 and Berlin in 1921. Justiz first worked in an Expressionist style before veering towards Cubism under the influence of Georges Braque. He was considered as one of the best modern Czech painters.
