Bach was the son of a Jewish merchant. He studied painting in Potsdam and then worked in Warsaw for Count Ossolinsky. Bach also worked as a sculptor.

Baitler, Zoma

Baitler studied at the School of Decorative Arts of Kovno between 1922 and 1927. Working as an Impressionist artist, he then went to Uruguay and settled there permanently. He founded a studio in 1933 and worked under the influence of Joaquin Torres-Garcia. Baitler visited Europe and Israel in 1953 and exhibited his works in Barcelona and Venice in 1948 and 1960.

Ballin, Mogens Francesco Hendrik
Birth - Death : 1871-1914
Nationality : Danish
Ballin worked under the influence of Gauguin and Van Gogh and became in 1891 a member of the Israelite Nabis. Born into a religious Jewish family, he came to Paris in 1891 and at a banquet given in honor of Gauguin met Jan Verkade, the Dutch painter who became a Catholic monk, by whom he was introduced to the Nabi\" group. In 1892, Ballin traveled to Italy and converted to Catholicism a year later. Admitted to the Franciscan Third Order, he returned in 1894 to Copenhagen, where an exhibition of his paintings met with great success. In 1943, during the German occupation of Denmark, members of the Danish Resistance as an act of defiance organized a retrospective show of Ballin's work. "

Band became an orphan at a young age after losing both his father and mother. He spent three years in Berlin where he studied painting before settling in Paris in 1923. He traveled to New York in 1926 and exhibited there as well as in 1934. Band, who settled in the U.S during World War Two, also showed his works, genre paintings, portraits, nudes and landscapes painted in an Expressionist style, in Paris and in many cities in Europe.
