ovoid pâte de verre vase decorated with three women dancers on a grey background
Epinal, eastern France. Argy-Rousseau was one of the best pâte de verre makers during the 1920's and 1930's. He first studied at the Sèvres Ceramic school and then turned to working glass and cristal. He invented new techniques, notably a way to colour surfaces and chose rare themes such as the one deriving from Greek mythology for this vase.
