The Impressionist and Modern market has been on a kind of revival with Christie's sale of Impressionist and Modern art held in London on June 20,2018 which yielded 128.1 million GBP just near its high estimate, its second highest June sale in this domain since 2012.

CHRISTIE'S SALE OF MODERN BRITISH ART YIELDED 26,38 MILLION GBP IN LONDON
Christie's sale of Modern British Art yieled 26.387 million GBP with 94% of the 48 lots sold marking a 30% rise over last year's total.

SOTHEBY'S SALE OF IMPRESSIONIST AND MODERN ART TOTALS A LOW FIGURE OF 87,5 MILLION GBP
Sotheby's sale of  Impressionist & Modern Art held in London  on June 19 2018 achieve a total of 87.5 million GBP with collectors demonstrating some  interest in a wide range of pieces spanning the entire field which saw Pablo Picasso's "Buste de Femme" (1932) reaching 27,3 million at ten times the 2,4 million it achieved at auction in 1997 but overall the sale was rather a disappointment.

GERMAN RECORD FOR A MAX BECKMANN PAINTING IN BERLIN
The auction house Grisebach in Berlin sold on June 2 2018 a Max Beckmann painting for a premium-inclusive 5.5 million euros, the highest price ever paid for a painting at an auction in Germany.

CHRISTIE'S ASIAN SALE ACHIEVES A TOTAL OF 7,49 MILLION EUROS IN PARIS
The Asian art sale organised at Christie's on June 13 2018 achieved a total of 7,497,000 euros selling 79% by lot and 90% by value.The top lot of the sale was a rare and important gilt-bronze figure of Buddha Shakyamuni, which sold for 967,500 euros against a presale estimate of 300,000-500,000 euros.

SOTHEBY'S SALES OF EUROPEAN ART AND MASTER PAINTINGS TOTAL 23.4 MILLION USD IN NEW YORK
Sotheby's sales of European art and master paintings held on May 22 in New York yielded 23.4 million USD with six William Bouguereau's works totaling 4.6 million.

CHRISTIE'S POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART AUCTION FARED RELATIVELY WELL
Christie's post-war and contemporary art auction held in London on March 6, 2018 fared relatively well with 60 lots sold for 137,459,750 GBP and 22,621,250 GBP bid for Andy Warhol's "Six self-portraits" executed in 1986.

FINE RESULTS FOR CHRISTIE'S IN 2017
Christie's announced total global sales increased 26% in 2017 to £5.1 billion ($6.6 billion, up 21%), led by the record breaking sale of Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Mundi, selling for $450.3 million (£342.2 million) in November in New York.

OLD MASTERS FARED RATHER WELL IN LONDON
The Old Master Sales held during the first week of December 2017 in London totaled 58 million GBP altogether at Christie's, Sotheby's and Bonhams showing there was renewed interest in these paintings.
